We are delighted to introduce the artist who will create the exclusive illustrations for La Vagabonde by Colette

Born in 1961, Véronique FRAMPAS earned a BTS in Applied Arts in 1983 and a diploma in Decorative Arts, both specializing in ceramic arts (tableware), from the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Appliqués et des Métiers d’Art (ENSAAMA), located on Rue Olivier de Serres in Paris. She then turned to observational drawing, where she developed a refined and meticulous style. Watercolor and gouache became her favorite mediums for capturing her observations, ranging from quick sketches to highly detailed studies on specialty paper and parchment.
Her work is about rendering, narrating, recording, and transcribing. Landscape and architectural studies lie at the heart of her painting practice, documenting her subjects with great precision. A well-rounded artist, Véronique Frampas approaches drawing, color, and volume with exceptional sensitivity, becoming a true conduit of emotions and craftsmanship.
Alongside her artistic career, she shares her passion for art by teaching. She works extensively with young audiences at the prestigious Château de Fontainebleau and teaches drawing and watercolor to adults in Versailles, guiding them in both discovery and advanced practice.
Véronique FRAMPAS is currently creating three color illustrations. They will be accompanied by a frontispiece (a black-and-white photo of COLETTE). The complete set will be made available to bookbinders.
